It DID help to have a plan. Lost last week!!!!

Okay…I actually followed through on something and had it work.  Last week I talked about creating a plan to try and kick this up trend that has been going on for awhile.  Although I didn’t lose much (was down .6 last week), it was still a loss and in the sticks-of-butter world, that was over 2 lost.  I am claiming victory people.  My mojo is finally on its way back.  I think I just misplaced it for awhile.

Today I actually asked Dwayne if he could run with me outside for the cardio portion of my workout.  I was able to run for about a quarter to half a mile without stopping.  It felt great, until my Achilles tensed up.  I stretched it and walked the remainder of the route he had planned for us.  I felt so ALIVE after that jog/walk.  I think I want to start incorporating some of this into my weekly routine.  Needless to say, though, when we finished, he still worked me out using a circuit training routine, that knocked me on my butt!  What a wonderful workout.  Hard, but worth it!!!

I survived this month end, and I am still in one piece.  It’s always hard when there are workforce reductions and as a result, your workload increases.  I try to find the positive in things, and thought of it as job security for me.  It also helps when your internal customers are patient!  So glad that’s over though.  Gives me a chance to breathe again.

My efforts over the next few weeks…months….are going to be focused on getting this last 30 pounds off.  I am tired of this mess already.  Ready to start digging into this old stuff.  The best part is that Weight Watchers is implementing the Walk-It Challenge again this year, culminating in another 5K race on June 6th.  I have been walking with my same group since last June, and I am loving it!!!  I have signed up to do one more 5K so far, being held on 5/1.  As I stated in my plan, I want to try and do at lease one 5K per month from here on out.  Ultimately (but not in the FORESEEABLE future…) I’d like to be able to run a whole one without stopping…baby steps.

The last couple of meetings focused on the Buddy System and on getting more active.  I think this is why they are keeping on with the Walk-It Challenge.  Fine by me….love it.

My own shot. No stock footage this time!!! Started enjoying photographing my creations!

1/3  cup  water
1/3  cup sugar
1/2  teaspoon  dried lavender (such as McCormick)
1/2  teaspoon  unflavored gelatin
1 tablespoon  water
1/4 cup  honey
 2  tablespoons  cornstarch
 1/8  teaspoon  salt
 3  large egg yolks
 1  cup  2% reduced-fat milk
 1  (6-ounce) container 2% Greek-style plain yogurt
 2  cups  quartered strawberries

Instructions:

1. Bring first 3 ingredients to a boil in a small saucepan; cook 1 minute or until sugar dissolves, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat; let stand 10 minutes. Strain syrup through a sieve into a small bowl; discard solids. Chill.

2. Sprinkle gelatin over 1 tablespoon water in a small bowl. Let stand 1 minute or until gelatin dissolves.

3. Combine honey, cornstarch, salt, and egg yolks in a medium bowl; stir well with a whisk.
